This web page is dedicated in the memory of Adam Richter. Born: Jawor, Poland, January 24, 1949, Died: Rochester, NY October 19, 2011
Adam was a valued member of the JRI-Poland volunteer family. For the past 14 months he devoted himself with uncommon fervor and dedication to the indexing of a major source of Miedzyrzyec Podlaski records.
Although he knew that his condition was deteriorating, with his waning strength Adam strove to complete the work. As a witness to his efforts, it will be impossible for me to ever forget the legacy Adam has left. When publicly announced, this project will be dedicated in his memory.
I am pleased to pass on the words of Esta Richter, Adam's wife of 35 years. Esta mentioned that starting in 2002 with only two records for his family, Adam eagerly pursued his family history with unwavering passion. In the eyes of Esta and his family, it was clear that Adam's journey in the genealogical world gave him renewed strength even with the day-to-day challenges of his illness. And, along the way, when he discovered relatives in Argentina, England and many cities in the U.S., he and Esta would travel to meet these relatives and renew long-broken family ties.
Because of his dedication to the indexing of records for his RYCHTER family's roots in Miedzryzec Podlaski, Esta has asked that those wishing to honour Adam's memory do so by donating to this town project. You will find the link at www.jri-poland.org/support.htm.
