“Finding the Original Source Document” – Added to the Members Only Video Library

JRI-Poland users who donate $54 annually for the separate status of being a “Member”, are invited to a number of special events during the year and access to the resulting JRI-Poland On Demand Video Library of webinars. There are 15 lectures online (as we write this) which range from Basic Search Topics to Poland’s Changing Borders and include detailed presentations on researching Galicia, Prussia, Warsaw and Wrocław.

Our most recent Members Only presentation was entitled, “Finding the Original Source Document – A How to Guide” and was presented twice in the first half of December to accommodate a global live audience. 87 people attended our first presentation and 95 people attended the second one. This is typical of our Members Only Events which provide lively question-and-answer sessions after a presentation.

This latest presentation is now viewable on our JRI-Poland On Demand Video Library for current members. We covered what JRI-Poland sources are and how to search for the source document if it is not clickable to view from the JRI-Poland Search Results Screen. We also covered what options a researcher has if the document of interest is not online anywhere at this time. Finally, we covered what options there are for getting help interpreting the resulting source document and provided examples of other websites, some of which we link to, where a researcher can search for a document or browse a collection.

To view the Video Library, hover over the “HELLO” blurb on most of our screens and a pulldown menu will appear with the VIDEO LiBRARY menu option. You will also see the MY PROFILE option where you can subscribe to membership for $54 annually.
