Hello and welcome to JRI-Poland’s new Town Explorer.

We are focused on making the experience simpler for newcomers while maintaining advanced features for experienced researchers. Our new Town Explorer is a visual tool for finding Towns and Settlements in our database – Researchers can search for Town names and see where they are on the map, what other Towns or settlements surround those and discover new potential locations to investigate in the search of their family’s records.
Additionally, Researchers will be able to:

– Designate your “Favorite” (❤️ ) Towns and Settlements to receive periodic updates pertaining to them
– Contact Town Volunteer Leadership that can assist you in your research
– Access Town specific Surname Lists, a compilation of distinct SURNAMES that appear in records for your town
– Search quickly for a SURNAME in specific Towns

We will continue to add new features and some things may not yet work as expected. You can help us test as we build by reporting your impressions via our feedback widget. Keep in mind we currently have a limited data set available on this new system – mostly Birth, Death, Marriage and Divorce records. To explore the complete live data set, you can still use our legacy system here. Please, take our new search for a spin and share your feedback – we read all of it.
